Photogrammetry
Photogrammetry is the art and science of extracting 3D information from photographs. The process involves taking overlapping photographs of an object, structure, or space, and converting them into 2D or 3D digital models. The output of this process are 3D textured mesh models utilized in many rapidly advancing emerging technologies including Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Digital Animation. Virtual Reality is a computer-generated environment that you interact with. Augmented Reality uses technology to enhance your own reality rather than replacing it.
Creative 3D modeling requires a unique blend of skills which include an artistic eye, passion for technology, and love of photography – I’ve been blessed with all three. This is an exploding art form which opens many new opportunities for aspiring and professional photographers and models.
